Total land area of Iran is 1,648,195 km² (approx. 636,369 mi²). 110750 km² of Iran's territory is covered in forests. and forest land comprises 7% of all the land in the country.

Issues Iran faces

Currently Iran faces various issues, including air pollution, especially in urban areas, from vehicle emissions, refinery operations, and industrial effluents, deforestation, overgrazing, desertification, oil pollution in the Persian Gulf, wetland losses from drought, soil degradation (salination), inadequate supplies of potable water, water pollution from raw sewage and industrial waste, urbanization.
